I Can Make A Difference!

Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans in recent decades and its projected continuation. Global warming mainly come from the action man did. For example deforestion, carbon dioxide from vehicals etc.

Earth is becoming hotter as the result of global warming, many parts of the world are suffering from disasters. Melting glaciers, early snowmelt and severe droughts will cause more dramatic water shortages in the American West. Rising sea levels will lead to coastal flooding on the Eastern seaboard, in Florida, and in other areas, such as the Gulf of Mexico. Warmer sea surface temperatures will fuel more intense hurricanes in the southeastern Atlantic and Gulf coasts. Forests, farms and cities will face troublesome new pests and more mosquito-borne diseases. Disruption of habitats such as coral reefs and alpine meadows could drive many plant and animal species to extinction.

We can help cut global warming pollution by just simple action from our daily lives. Reduce, reuse and recycle waste material is a great help. Reduce the amount and toxicity of trash you discard. Reuse containers and products; repair what is broken or give it to someone who can repair it. Recycle as much as possible, which includes buying products with recycled content.

For small action we can save the earth! I can make a difference!

15. Write about an incident when everything went wrong.

I had been brought up not to believe in luck. Superstitions I am not! Believing that I am the master of my fate. Since I did not believe in bad luck. So how did I have a day when everything went wrong?

It began with getting up early as usual to the ringing sound of my alarm clock. I turned back and went to sleep as usual for another fifteen minute. To my astonishment, I had overslept for half an hour instead. That started it all. I dashed into the bathroom, cleaned myself hurriedly and dashed off to school without my breakfast. Already I could hear the rumbling of my stomach

There were puddles of water everywhere as it had been raining in the wee hours of the morning. I had just missed the 6.30 am bus. The bus-stop was filled with people from all walks of life. Another bus came soon enough, packed to overflowing and passed by without stopping I could not afford to wait anymore. So I tried hailing a taxi. Nothing happen as taxi do not usually stop at bus stop. Deciding to wait for the bus again but unfortunately there were a lot of pushing and shoving. I lost my balance and fell onto a puddle of water. Though wet, I managed to clamber aboard the bus. All eyes were on me which made me feel very embarrassed. As soon as the bus stopped outside the school, I dashed to the classroom. I would apologise I thought. Have to eat humble pie no matter what kind of music I would have to face. Teachers were kind souls usually. The silence was defeaning. There was no one in class. Then I remembered today having assembly. An idea crept into my mind; I would sneak into the hall.

I left my bag in the class and crept along to the hall. Having made it to the back door of the hall, I smiled to myself and turned the door handle. I was very uncomfortable wearing my wet uniform but I had no choice. The pupils were singing the school song and I could hear them.

Sneaking in quietly and join in the singing the door gently. There was some dummy leaning on it. I tried again, harder this time. Finally the door yielded, stepped in and looked at the figure who had been standing behind the door.

I saw myself looking straight into the eyes of my roly-poly, discipline master. . .

write about a time when you lost something expansive, but gained a vuluable lesson in return.

‘’I’ll keep it safely. I promise!’’ my hand was shaking when I held on the heavy brand new, hard cover Harry potter storybook. I turned and jumped around sue like a happy puppy.

Due to financial problem at home, I was forbidden to spend any money on storybooks or movies.

Sue, my best buddy, had handed the expensive book to me without any consideration. I held on the book everywhere I went. I cannot even bare to put any bookmark in the book to leave mark in the book.

Just one careless act however caused me much regret I lost the book! I searched everywhere, high and low. I went round asking strangers if they had seen any lost book.

I lost not only the book but the friendship I had with Sue. I image of how miserable looked flashed through my mind. I could hardly eat or sleep, I tossed around in bed thinking of how I am going to explain to sue and how I could return her the money.

The day came. I went up to sue to admit my mistake. Tears rolled down my cheeks, mixture with muclear. I explained to her how I lost it and how I searched for it.

‘’Is okay.’’ These two words actually came out of Sue’s mouth. I cannot believe my ears. I was dumbfounded. Sue was so calm that I could hardly believe.

I was sorry and filled with regrets. I gave her all my savings but she refused to take. I learnt what friendship is like...
